During this Spring Festival holiday, Lishui’s cultural and tourism sector achieved robust growth, driven by its unique mountain‑water festive atmosphere, abundant cultural and tourism activities, and in‑depth integration of diverse business formats. Yesterday, the Municipal Bureau of Culture, Radio, Television, Tourism and Sports announced that during the 2026 Spring Festival holiday, the city received a total of “2.3578 million tourists”, a year‑on‑year increase of 19.89%. Among them, overnight tourists reached 1.707 million, up 23.96% year on year, while one‑day tourists numbered 650,800, an increase of 10.38%.
In terms of regions, Liandu District, Jinyun County and Qingtian County ranked top three in tourist arrivals. In terms of growth rate, Yunhe County, Jinyun County and Songyang County led the city.
During the festival, Lishui attracted a large number of tourists from within the province, while its appeal to out‑of‑province visitors also increased significantly. The number of out‑of‑province tourists rose 25.3% year on year, with Jiangsu, Shanghai and Fujian as the top three major source markets. Young people accounted for the majority of visitors, with those aged 23–45 making up 47.5% of total tourists.
Over the holiday, Lishui’s 23 4A‑level and above scenic areas received a total of 1.287 million tourists, up 23.9% year on year. The top three scenic areas by average daily visits were Yunhe Terraces Scenic Area, Ancient Weir and Painting Township Scenic Area, and Xiandu Scenic Area. Five provincial‑level and above tourist resorts recorded 1.149 million visits in total, with Songyang Pastoral Style Resort leading with an average of 85,000 visitors per day. Three provincial‑level and above nighttime cultural and tourism consumption clusters received 511,000 tourists cumulatively, a year‑on‑year rise of 24.9%. Lishui Overseas Chinese Fashion and Leisure Block, Songyang Old Street and West Street Historical and Cultural Block became popular night‑tour destinations. The city’s 46 star‑rated hotels received 86,800 tourists, up 15.18% year on year, with operating revenue reaching 36.2639 million yuan, an increase of 14.08%.
To enrich visitor experience, the city carefully designed a series of cultural and tourism events. A total of 529 mass cultural activities were held, serving nearly 2.2224 million residents and tourists, including 149 opera performances attended by about 98,000 people. For instance, Liandu District presented intangible cultural heritage displays of local lantern dances and immersive blessing experiences at the century‑old Tan Residence. Longquan City launched the “Super Value Garden Tour” featuring the charm of Song‑dynasty culture. Jingning She Autonomous County held daily princess parades, attracting over 5,000 visitors per show. Qingyuan County hosted the 46th Yueshan Spring Festival Gala, where players of the “Zhe BA” joined villagers in celebrating the festival.
On February 15, CCTV‑3 broadcast a special feature on Lishui’s Spring Festival atmosphere, highlighting four popular spots: Chuzhou City Wall, Songyang Chenjiapu Village, Jingning She Township and Qingtai Taihe Lake. In particular, after the program, Songyang Chenjiapu Village saw a sharp rise in visits. The ancient village with yellow walls and black tiles, decorated for the Spring Festival, was brimming with festive vibes, drawing over 8,000 tourists per day.
Scenic area themed events were rich and distinctive. At Penal Colony Scenic Area, visitors enjoyed a strong festive atmosphere through special performances of Painting Township Ferry, temple fairs, dragon and lion dances and other activities. With the theme of “Horses Treading on Auspicious Clouds, Blessings at Terraces Every Year”, Yunhe Terraces integrated intangible cultural heritage fairs with the “Visiting Relatives at Terraces” experience, allowing tourists to appreciate the winter scenery and traditional customs. Jinyun Xiandu created an immersive fairy‑hero scene themed “Welcoming the New Year with Swords, Riding Horses Around the Immortal Land”. Suichang Gold Mine launched special activities such as New Year gold panning, where visitors eagerly experienced the joy of “striking it rich”.
Business format innovation has boosted consumption potential. The “Celebrate the Year of the Horse in Style” themed week at Chuzhou City Wall in the urban area gathered diverse experiences, and launched combined ticket packages with Ancient Weir and Painting Township Scenic Area and surrounding hotels to drive secondary consumption. Shanhaixingqiu’s “Spring Festival Pet Carnival” launched joint tickets with surrounding businesses to promote secondary consumption. Qingtian’s “Spring Festival Basketball Match” created a unique festive viewing experience, with a maximum attendance of over 1,500 people per game. Yunhe County turned the county seat into an immersive game zone through “Co‑created Stores Pampering Guests” and “National Gift Hunt” activities.
