Date:2023-07-21 Source:Lishui Daily

Recently, the Office of the Provincial Coordination Group for "Thousand Village Demonstration and Ten Thousand Village Renovation" announced the acceptance of the three-year construction work of the eighth batch (2020) of historical and cultural (traditional) villages. Chenjiapu Village in Songyang county, Baiyunyan Village in Longquan county, and Qianlu Village in Jinyun county were rated as excellent. Five villages, Yangjiatang Village in Songyang county, Longchuan Village in Jingning, Shangding Village in Suichang county, Kuchuan Village in Liandu county and Cuntou Village in Yunhe county, were rated as good.

The content of this acceptance evaluation includes the completion quantity, construction quality, relevant management systems, and planning implementation of four major projects: restoration of ancient buildings, restoration and renovation of ancient roads in the village, renovation of buildings (structures) that conflict with historical features, and construction of basic public facilities in relocation and resettlement areas.

Chenjiapu Village is located in Sidu Township, Songyang, 18 kilometers away from the county seat, and has a history of over 640 years. The traditional village style and pattern are relatively intact, and the village houses are built against the mountain, facing the canyon, with a drop of over 200 meters. The special site layout forms a unique "cliff dwelling" spectacle.

Baiyunyan Village is about 9 kilometers away from the urban area of Longquan. The village is surrounded by overlapping mountains and clouds; In front of and behind the house, there are thousands of acres of lush bamboo forests, and clear streams pass through the village. The scenery is elegant and beautiful, like a paradise. This is also the hometown of the famous poet Ye Shaoweng from the Southern Song Dynasty. There are numerous cultural relics in the village, such as the "Shilin Aristocratic Family", the ancestral hall of King Yu, the former site of Xibi Pond, and the former site of Yanmo Pond.

Qianlu Village, located in the northeast corner of Jinyun County, is a village with historical and cultural characteristics. There are various historical and cultural relics, such as Muyi Bridge, the former site of the University of Science and Technology, ancient residences, etc. Most of the remaining ancient buildings are mainly from the Qing Dynasty. There are 46 existing ancient residences, 56 characteristic buildings, and many ancient water weirs, ancient temples, ancient roads, and ancient streets and alleys. It is one of the most preserved and complete ancient villages near Qianlu Road and Huzhen Town today.

Over the years, our city has followed the concept of "one county has one plan, one village has one plan, one village has one brand, one village has one scenery, one village owns one rhyme" to promote the construction of historical and cultural (traditional) villages, and has prepared and issued policy documents such as "Research on the Architectural Style and Features of Traditional Villages in Lishui City", "Implementation Opinions on Strengthening the Protection and Utilization of Historical and Cultural Villages" to determine the scope and objects of protection of traditional villages. According to the various factors such as the permanent population situation, natural conditions, traffic conditions and etc., we have proposed short-term, medium-term, and long-term protection goals and measures to implement differentiated protection. At the same time, through the implementation of the Regulations on the Protection of Traditional Villages in Lishui City, we have achieved the combination of traditional architectural style with traditional culture and villagers' life, and the village structure and functions with ecological environment management.

Since 2012, the country has announced five batches of 6819 Chinese traditional villages. 257 were from Lishui, accounting for 40.4% of the total 636 villages in Zhejiang province and ranking first in East China and third in the country.
