The principal of Jue Xin Microelectronics project from Lishui Economic Development Zone at the “Maker China”competition said: “The use of carbon-silicon substrates can effectively reduce the weight of new energy vehicles, thereby enhancing their overall mileage.” Recently, the 2023 edition of the ‘Maker China’ competition (Lishui division) and the ‘Zhejiang Excellence Projects’ event celebrating entrepreneurial innovation among small and medium enterprises in Lishui concluded with great success.

The competition is jointly organized by the Lishui Municipal Bureau of Economy and Information Technology, and the Lishui Municipal Finance Bureau, aiming to promote the culture of innovation and entrepreneurship, foster an environment conducive to innovation and entrepreneurship, and provide a robust platform for enhancing innovation and development across society.

In recent years, Lishui City has steadfastly implemented strategies driving by innovation, and invigorating the city through science, technology and education, and reinvigorating the city through human resource development. It firmly followed the path of green transformation and high-quality development driven by innovation, and forged a new engine that propels industrial upgrades through technological innovation leadership. The “Maker China” Competition (Lishui Division), serving as a prominent emblem of Lishui’s technological innovation efforts, has garnered even greater prominence this year with over 400 projects participating, ranking among the top in the province. The competition has made significant strides in various aspects such as scale of participation, project quality, caliber of experts, financing outcomes, results transformation, and promotional showcasing. In addition, the competition has evolved into a pivotal platform in Lishui for the discovery of innovation and entrepreneurial value, facilitation of financing connections, and industry exchanges, the strategy of “stimulating enterprises and attracting talents through competition” has has emerged as a prominent model driving our city's investment attraction, talent recruitment, and innovation ecosystem empowerment.

The principal leading the project of Zhejiang BoSheng Steel Group Co., Ltd. said after the competition: “BoSheng Steel Industry is the first time to participate in the ‘Maker China’ competition and feels different after participating. The event provided a unique platform for engaging with cutting-edge innovation and entrepreneurship projects from Lishui, and there are provincial expert judges who give guidance and point out the direction of enterprise innovation in the next step, which is rewarding for us.”

The principal of The Hydrogen Fuel UAV Team from Shandong University’s Hydrogen Energy Center said: “In today’s era of new energy, our team is dedicated to the research and development of new energy batteries for drones, extending the flight time to 3 hours while maintaining the existing flight performance of drones, and solving the key problem of short endurance time and frequent charging of lithium battery drones.” The project introduced by the team is the “New Range-Extended Lithium-Hydrogen Fuel Cell Hybrid Power UAV”, which having already established an industry-academia collaboration station with Jinyun County, and will carry out more in-depth and diversified mass production collaboration in the next step.

In the final segment, Judge Liu Xianxin provided his commentary on this year’s competition, stating, “In this competition,the projects participated by Lishui City have high technical content, high overall maturity, and strong landing potential. The true innovation challenges for businesses often lie in key technologies.
